Sewing Workshops
Our Sewing workshops take place during term time at our office on The Square
You can register to join our waitlist for our sessions which run on Monday 12pm - 2pm, or Tuesday and Thursday 10am - 12pm.
These are intermediate level classes, some basic sewing skills are usually required before joining.
Beginners Sewing Workshops
Our beginners sewing workshop is a hands on 5 week course that teaches participants how to use a sewing machine, read a paper pattern and basic sewing skills and tips. Each participant will complete a customised project and have the confidence to continue their sewing journey.

About our workshops
We run a variety of regular and one off workshops. Click titles to learn more about each workshop

Come and learn to sew or improve your existing skills! This can include how to use a sewing machine and overlocker, read and use patterns, making new garments, up-cycling or mending. Our experienced mentors can help you achieve your goals at your pace. All equipment is provided including some material (you may bring your own machine). These workshops are at our SuperGrans office and are weekly during term time.

Would you like to learn to knit/crochet or improve your existing skills? Our experienced mentors can help you achieve your goals at your pace. We have needles/crochet hooks and some wool available but feel free to bring a project you’d like to complete. These workshops are at our SuperGrans office and are weekly during term time.

Would you like to try some new healthy, low budget meals in hands-on, small ratio groups? Our workshops are held in the community and can be tailor made for individual groups if requested. All ingredients are provided and kai is shared together at the end of each workshop

Come and learn how to edge repurposed woollen blankets for the wahakura community project. All materials are provided and once you are confident this can be continued in your own home if you would like to.
