  • Cooking Skill Workshops

    Learn to cook with confidence at our beginner cooking skill workshops, These beginner cooking workshops run during the week for 2 hours where we will usually sit down and enjoy the kai together afterwards.

    Monday 15th of September - Public Exotic Sauerkraut session @ 10.30am, this will be hosted in Kelvin Grove

    Tuesday 16th of September - Public Asian Style Cooking Workshop @ 10am, this will be hosted in Kelvin Grove. Please note the previously advertised PM session is full, we only have spots available at the 10am session.

    There is no set charge for these workshops, these are donation based workshops.

  • Preserving Workshops

    Learn to preserve seasonal goods at our community workshops. Please register your interest and our programme coordinator will then contact you with more details.

    Upcoming Workshops:

    Join us at our next workshop on Thursday 9th of October - this session runs from 10am to 12pm with Heidi at the Kelvin Grove Community Centre. Free parking available on site.

    There is no set charge for these workshops, instead we are koha/donation based as we try to make these skills accessible to all within our community.

    Sewing workshops take place during term time at our office on The Square on Monday 12pm - 2pm, and Tuesday and Thursday 10am - 12pm. Register your interest below.

  • Mending Workshop Expression of Interest

    Mending Workshop

    From time to time we also host a mending workshop which is a one off two hour session where we teach the basics of mending and repairing.

    There is no set date for this workshop, you will be added to a waitlist and contacted when we have availability to run this.

About our workshops

We run a variety of regular and one off workshops. Click titles to learn more about each workshop

 
  • Come and learn to sew or improve your existing skills! This can include how to use a sewing machine and overlocker, read and use patterns, making new garments, up-cycling or mending. Our experienced mentors can help you achieve your goals at your pace. All equipment is provided including some material (you may bring your own machine). These workshops are at our SuperGrans office and are weekly during term time.

  • Would you like to learn to knit/crochet or improve your existing skills? Our experienced mentors can help you achieve your goals at your pace. We have needles/crochet hooks and some wool available but feel free to bring a project you’d like to complete. These workshops are at our SuperGrans office and are weekly during term time.

  • Would you like to try some new healthy, low budget meals in hands-on, small ratio groups? Our workshops are held in the community and can be tailor made for individual groups if requested. All ingredients are provided and kai is shared together at the end of each workshop

  • We run one-off seasonal workshops on various topics throughout the year. Upcoming events will be listed on our calendar and Facebook page.

  • Would you like to learn how to preserve seasonal fruit in a variety of ways? Our workshops have all equipment and ingredients provided and you can take home some finished product. Check our calendar for upcoming workshops.

  • Come and learn how to edge repurposed woollen blankets for the wahakura community project. All materials are provided and once you are confident this can be continued in your own home if you would like to.
