  • Cooking Skill Workshops

    Learn to cook with confidence at our beginner cooking skill workshops, These beginner cooking workshops kick off at 10.30am during the week and run for 2 hours where we sit down and enjoy the kai together afterwards. We are running multiple workshops each month - Please Register your interest to be sent a list of upcoming dates.

  • Preserving Workshops

    Learn to preserve at our community workshops. We are running two community sessions in the month of May, Please include which date you would like to attend when you register your interest and our programme coordinator will then contact you with more details.

    Monday 13th May - 10am in Kelvin Grove making Sauerkraut

    Tuesday 14th May - 10am in Kelvin Grove making Sauerkraut

    Please note we receive our fruit from Manawatū Community Fruit Harvest and sometimes the produce is subject to change

  • Beginners Sewing Workshops

    A fun and friendly weekly workshop for four weeks for those who are new to sewing!

    Sewing workshops take place during term time at our office on The Square on Monday’s 12pm - 2pm, and Tuesday’s 10am - 12pm. Register your interest below

  • Wahakura Linen Workshop

    Please note this is sewing for the purpose of our wahakura project we partner with Mokopuna Ora on. These are run three or four times a year and a sufficient sewing skill level is required to produce linens for the community

About our workshops

We run a variety of regular and one off workshops. Click titles to learn more about each workshop

 
  • Come and learn to sew or improve your existing skills! This can include how to use a sewing machine and overlocker, read and use patterns, making new garments, up-cycling or mending. Our experienced mentors can help you achieve your goals at your pace. All equipment is provided including some material (you may bring your own machine). These workshops are at our SuperGrans office and are weekly during term time.

  • Would you like to learn to knit/crochet or improve your existing skills? Our experienced mentors can help you achieve your goals at your pace. We have needles/crochet hooks and some wool available but feel free to bring a project you’d like to complete. These workshops are at our SuperGrans office and are weekly during term time.

  • Would you like to try some new healthy, low budget meals in hands-on, small ratio groups? Our workshops are held in the community and can be tailor made for individual groups if requested. All ingredients are provided and kai is shared together at the end of each workshop

  • We run one-off seasonal workshops on various topics throughout the year. Upcoming events will be listed on our calendar and Facebook page.

  • Would you like to learn how to preserve seasonal fruit in a variety of ways? Our workshops have all equipment and ingredients provided and you can take home some finished product. Check our calendar for upcoming workshops.

  • Come and learn how to edge repurposed woollen blankets for the wahakura community project. All materials are provided and once you are confident this can be continued in your own home if you would like to.

  • We have one-off workshops throughout the year at our SuperGrans office to sew the custom made linen for the wahakura community project. See our calendar for upcoming dates.
