Our Services

We offer free or low cost one on one mentoring in your home, workshops, and community projects and events

One on One

Our one on one mentoring service uses volunteer mentors who go into the home (or sometimes a neutral space) once a week and share their knowledge and skills. Each session is goal based and tailored for individual circumstances. This is hugely rewarding for everyone involved.

Some of the skills we share include planning and preparing healthy budget meals, sewing, knitting, vegetable gardening, home management and support of parenting skills. If you're not sure if the skill you or your client want to learn is covered or if you want to make a referral, contact us by email.

Workshops

Our small ratio cooking workshops teach low budget healthy meals and are individually designed for groups in the community. We can provide the venue or come to your place. Each session concludes with a shared meal (Covid 19 restrictions permitting).

Our knitting, crochet and sewing workshops are run at our premises. These have small numbers with all equipment provided.

Booking is essential. Contact us to enquire or keep up to date with workshops via our Facebook page.

Community Projects

We have a number of projects in the community including partnerships with Mokopuna Ora (sewing wahakura bedding and blankets) and Community Fruit Harvest (preserving surplus produce). We also edge merino wraps for the Palmerston North Hospital delivery suite and knit woollen garments for the community. If you want to be involved enquire today or follow our Facebook page for updates.

Community Events

We run a variety of other events regularly throughout the year which are in the community and open to the public. Keep up to date with events via our events calendar or Facebook page.

What our clients are saying

“I really enjoyed the SuperGrans cooking classes. They are fun and I’m finding getting new recipes and practising them has helped me with new ideas of things to make at home. I’ve even shared some of the recipes with friends and family who have requested them after making them for them.”

– Workshop Participent

We would like to say a big thank you to you and your team, for your skills and generosity in giving our son confidence in the kitchen. He has come a long way since those early days and can now confidently cook his favourite meals. More importantly he recognises the value in being able to cook at home
